It all started over 40 years ago, when Miyoko Pfenninger-Imahata learned about animal welfare from a true animal lover, the late Mrs.Rotraut Bomford. Then joining the Japan Animal Welfare Society in the early 60's, running the Rescue Center until retiring in 1999. Urs experienced handling animals as an caretaker at the Veterinary University of Zuerich, before leaving Switzerland in 1975 and worked for JAWS over 20 years.
